Gone are the days when a customer walks into a Pro Shop and buys a set of golf clubs straight from the stand. Advances in the science of golf recognise the need to fit clubs to an individuals physique, strength and ability so that an investment in new clubs becomes an investment in a better game. After all it makes sense that a man who is five foot tall would need different clubs to a man who is over six foot tall.
Simon offers impartial and expert advice so that customers can make an informed choice having tried and compared a variety of clubs selecting the best to suit your game. He is often asked 'which clubs are best?' and the reply is always simple; 'if there was one company that consistently out performed the others, then the rest would go out of business!'
It isn't simply a case of a customer selecting a brand. Individuality has led manufacturers to develop specific variables in a clubs make up that a professional may alter to meet each customers needs.
During a club fitting Simon considers a person's height, arm length and size of hand. He examines impact position, ball flight, quality & position of strike, the length and stiffness of a shaft as well as grip size.
It is important for a customer to remember that any new club must out perform their current one. After a club fitting the customer will feel more confident knowing that they will have the equipment that will perform on the course and best compliment their game.
At the moment Simon is a Club Fitting Centre for Titleist, Callaway, Cobra & Wilson. He allows up to an hour and a half for a club fitting and charges £30.00.
