As a PowaKaddy and HillBilly Service Agent, we can assist and advise from the initial purchase to the service and general maintenance & repair of your trolley.
"Powakaddy is world famous and a best selling brand in over 50 countires", sold in the UK and Ireland exclusively through Golf Pro's and Speciality Custom Golf Outlets.
PowaKaddy advocate servicing your trolley every two years to maintain optimum performance and to single out potential problems before a fault develops and has a detrimental effect on other components. In a Links golf course environment such as ours, the salt air encourages rust and therefore, more wear and tear, hence an annual service would be beneficial to the longevity of the components and ultimately the trolleys overall performance.
If your trolley is malfunctioning, please check to see if your trolley is still within warranty (proof of date of purchase/warranty is required) as repairs outside warranty are chargeable. A service costs £30.00 and includes a test on both the battery and charger, testing the electrics, removal & re-greasing of the drive shaft & replacing bearings depending on the model of trolley.
Things that you can do to help maintain your trolley
Wipe down your trolley with a damp cloth, mild detergent and warm water.
The main wheels can be easily removed and washed separately.
NEVER jet wash or steam clean your trolley as this can force water into the electronics and gearbox. This could cause damage to the trolley and thus invalidating your warranty.
Occasionally check that the nuts, bolts and screws are all secure. These will have been set during manufacture using a torque setting but vibration over time can loosen them. The best guide is to hand tight.
Should there be any damage to cabling or connections then you should contact Simon or Joe . Failure to do so could lead to a serious fault with your trolley.
Frequently asked questions
Should I disconnect the battery once it is charged? No, the battery should be left on charge all the time, it will not damage the battery as the charger operates in "maintenance mode". However, if you are uncomfortable with that, you can disconnect your fully charged battery and it will be happy for up to 3 months in that state. If you turn off your charger, you must disconnect your battery from your charger. Please remember to recharge your battery fully before using it again.
Should I discharge the battery? No, never discharge the battery as it could damage the capacity of the battery.
"I brought my PowerKaddy in with an intermittent fault and it was fitted with new switch gear which solved the problem. When the fault recurred the switch gear was replaced free of charge as the repair was within warranty even though the PowaKaddy itself is quite old - excellent service!" Thomas Olesen July 2013
